Dr Lisba Yesudas

Lisba did her Ph.D on the relationship between the indigenous coastal language and social identity of Mukkuvar. She has also made academic contributions in seminars and workshops including ILK (Indigenous and Local Knowledge) UNESCO conference. In the first UN Ocean Conference at New York, she addressed UN General Assembly and presented the ecological knowledge revealed through the coastal language of Mukkuvar. She has been documenting the coastal language for the last some years. She has published books and journal articles in the regional language of Kerala. One of her publications has appeared in Langscape Magazine, based in Canada. She is the recipient of St. Rose of Lima Award (2017), KRLCC Yuvatha Award (2017), Rotary Excellence award (2017), and honoured by Dept. of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala on International Women's Day (2023).
